Visual Thinking wanted to reaffirm its status as one of the UK’s foremost specialist retail agencies.

The perception of its core services—visual merchandising—was one of mannequins and window displays. Such a view was unreflective of the true scope and commercial impact of its work.

Directing its reframing initiative, we redirected the dialog from “VM” to “retail transformation” and its ability to meet the future demands of the ever-evolving retail sector.

A multi-page report with text, bar and pie charts, images, and graphs, discussing various topics such as rising demands, shopper views, wish lists, declining states, boom towns, and sales force, featuring images of shopping, Christmas decorations, and urban scenes.

Creating strategic planning and platform opportunities for agency to strengthen its marketing and influence key audiences in meaningful ways, our work helped identify how the agency should engage and communicate at every level.

Forming part of a three-year content marketing strategy, we helped to land a numbers of Research Briefings, Insight Specials and Sector Reports.

The new brand messaging was incorporated into each marketing channel as well as into its service communication. From its website presence to content marketing, social media and PR activity—positioning the brand and its message in a way that mattered to clients and the media.

We worked with the agency’s internal design team and freelance journalists to create a range of content that gave an unmistakable perspective on retail that continuously engaged audiences on topics while helping it to drive conversation and consideration.
