Noble Rot magazine is a contemporary quarterly magazine offering wine lovers and the wine-curious a refreshing, irreverent perspective on wine (and food) culture. The founders Dan Keeling and Mark Andrew, run three critically acclaimed Noble Rot London restaurants in addition to designing and editing this beautifully presented magazine, so they know this world intimately.
The magazine is packed with accessible and engaging stories centred in and around the world of wine which appeal to both connoisseur and novice alike. Topics are rooted in wine but weave art, history, music and travel into the mix, creating surprising and playful storytelling.
CULINARY ZEITGEIST
Noble Rot is a vibrant celebration of gastronomic pleasure, merging the worlds of wine, food, and culture with a genre-defying spirit. Published every four months, the magazine features a star-studded lineup of columnists and interviewees, ranging from culinary legends like Nigella Lawson and Yotam Ottolenghi to cultural icons such as Brian Eno, Kiera Knightley, and The Chemical Brothers.
They have a roster of exceptional regular contributors ranging from acclaimed writers and journalists like Marina Hyde and Kate Spicer to actress (and vineyard-owner) Keira Knightly and food critic Marina O’Loughlin. They also feature input from sommeliers, winemakers, and chefs, providing insider information and expert opinions. And there is a diverse cast of interviewees ranging from footballer Peter Crouch and artist Grayson Perry to rave legends The Chemical Brothers.
And it doesn’t hurt that the publication looks great too. The aesthetic is about as far from “stuffy wine-buff” as it is possible to achieve with a heavy, matt paper-stock showcasing a joyful illustrative style and striking full bleed photography.
Ultimately, Noble Rot magazine is an indispensable resource - educating while it entertains - and doing it with a keen wit and signature style. It’s the sort of magazine you don’t want to read too quickly because then it will be over – a bit like a really great glass of wine.
